Advertising of Products
I. Advertising is the show of a product in the publication for the selling the product to the people. The usage of language and images is so important in the advertisement that the showing of products affects the people on the buying of them. The issue of the deceptive level of language and images and advertising has been the subject of disagreement for some time. Many argue that the show of a product is a real effect for people However, it is my belief that, the language and images used in advertising are in general too deceptive, and do not give consumers a fair idea about products.
II. Whether or not advertisement of a product shows the quality of the product.
A. Opposing ideas
1. Visual show of a product gives the consumer confidence about the product.
2. Consumers want to buy the products that they see in the advertisements and they have a trust to these products
B. Refutation
- Showing and seeing the products in the imaginary environments can not give the products’ real properties to the consumers due to the impossibility of showing the products all properties.
III. Whether or not there can not be tricks in the advertisements
A. Opposing ideas
1. All the advertisements, advertisers (persons in the advertising business) had to show the products real properties according to the advertising rules.
2. Sellers can not lie about the products because they do not want to be ashamed to the consumers.
B. Refutation
- If someone wants to sell a product to other people, he/she certainly makes some tricks in the legal ways and the visual animations show the product as a good thing although it is not in the convenient level of quality.
IV. Whether or not the artists and materials in the advertisements give the confidence to the consumers.
A. Opposing ideas
1. Artists do not play in the advertisements of shoddy products.
2. Money and equipments that is used in the advertisement shows the level of the products’ quality.
B. Refutation
1. Artists do not look at the product, they always look at the money that they take.
2. Money and equipments can be a trick for the selling of the product.
V. In conclusion, advertisements have lots of effects on the consumers. Some advertisements give the real properties and some of them give the unreal information certainly. I think, advertisements do not give the real properties and ideas to the consumers and also the language and images can be misleading.
